I know the Page Sysop command on Linux does not work :/

I thought I read some time back about someone having a workaround for it?

Can Mystic call a simple script to play a sound file when that command is selected? I tried it to no avail....has anyone gotten something like that to work?

    Thanks!

Good question, I've also thought of this. I've never tried to do anything though.

I know that this was of great interest to Dream Master. Maybe he'll pop in with a reply.

Maybe so :) I can do it on the command line easily...but I'm apparently not getting the right combination in Mystic to call it up. Not that I need it really, not much traffic on my board, but would be nice to have it working.

    Thanks!

    Sure it does.

I'm fairly certain if you plug something into Mystic's configuration it will work. You just have to put in something you've installed and works.

I thought I read some time back about someone having a workaround for it?

Not really a workaround, just a fill-in type thing to make it work. I believe g00 left the setting blank for the Linux install because there is nothing that would work across every distribution out there.

    I would think so.

From what I can remember of similar discussions, the way to do it was to call the pager as a door and run a command line mp3 player to play a song. I've never tried it or investigated it, so I don't know if that will work or not.

Yep. For future reference, /100 is my hub and /701 is my BBS. Both have netmail
functionality but /100 is likely to be read more often.

Yes I am happy to do so, but rather than clear it would you be happy to email me the password you are using for the listing and I can just resubmit an
update using that? Best email to use if you're happy to go that way is avon@bbs.geek.nz

That would definitely be the easier way, however if I don't remember the password I put in place a year ago it may be tough to access it. :)

Ah OK... all good, OK can you contact him and one of you let me know when I
can submit something. I'll likely run with what you have used already. OK to include James still do you think?

I don't see why not. He's listed as a secondary should he choose to be there and make use of it.
