Mystic BBS v1.12 Alpha 35 has been released for all platforms!

Thank you to all of you who help test and provide feedback. Things
are stabilizing a bit, so its getting about time to shake things up
again by adding more, as per usual!

Not sure where you were going with the alphas at the moment, but there's newcomers setting up 1.11 because it's the last "stable" version. If things are
stabilizing, is there any near future plans for a 1.12 release?

    Regards,
    Nick

It wasn't in the plans for the near future, but...

Some of the stuff I want to do soon *is* pretty big, and might be better off for a 1.13 version now that I am thinking about it. I suppose I could work on just getting MIS converged into MIS2 and then release 1.12.

As far as getting 1.11 by mistake, I wonder if they get it from the website? The site has 1.12 listed first and says that it is the recommended version to use.

I can also understand some people may just wish to use the latest version marked stable though.

Probably a good idea, that way it kinda sets a cut-off point for stable version
questions/concerns as well as bug reports. If they don't want the latest and greatest, use the stable version, otherwise follow along with the alphas. But in this case, wasn't 1.11 before the tosser and mailer even? Or was that just the file processor? Either way, Mystic's come a drastically long way in 35 alphas. ;)

I'm pretty sure it's from the website. But when they see "alpha" they probably go straight to the next choice.

    That's most likely the case.

No, 1.10 was FTN. 1.11 was some bug fixes and ANSI messages.

1.12 is a whole lot of enhancements and refinements all over the place, a few bigger things like Python and the on-the-fly spell checking with word suggestions, IPV6, SSH, RLOGIN, hatching and other echomail improvements, etc.

Of course bug fixes and whatever I broke along the way too and probably a
    bunch of crap I'm forgetting.

I'd say that 1.12 is the first release that has solid echomail though as 1.10 was the first release with it and 1.11 was release very shortly after as more of a maintenance release.

We have another HUGE layer of echomail stuff that is really awesome lined up too but I don't know when or what I am going to do at what time.

Yikes. It's been that damn long. You've been cruising along nicely!

Yep, I've still been following, and am actually awaiting the converstion from MIS to MIS2 (I'm guessing once the event manager is added?) before diving as deep as I can into another install. ;)

    time.

Sounds good mah dude! I only brought up a stable release for people that weren't willing to follow the alphas but can at least use what is currently stable without going back a year or two to 1.11. Then trying to help those with
it and not having that version sitting in front of you can be a pain as well. Even the global menu was changed up since then, if I recall a response you recently had to a guy using 1.11 giving one of two options.

I have to have something installed in order to be able to update it! I think I'm gonna hold out for the MIS2 -> MIS migration before I get too out of hand. ;)
