• Bulletin script for Mystic

From The Godfather@46:10/158 to All on Fri May 15 10:34:39 2020
    Hi all,

Curious to know if ayone can suggest a good script to grab and install on my BBS to replace the stock Mystic Bulletin menu? I've been looking for one
with light bars, ansi, add / delete on the fly (from within the menu,) and
sub categories such as Example: BBS related - about - history - rules -etc.. all under one category. Or example: E-Mag - issue 1 - issue 2 - issue 3 -etc.. I've seen quite a few on BBS's but am not proficient in .MPL and swore
I saw one that was recently published but can't find it on file bases.

In addition, I've noticed a few BBS's have been able to switch their One
liners to display User Name first, then the One liner, with more text for one liners, and nicely lined up to the left of each of the two columns (Left,
name, right Auto Message). I discovered the one liner header in prompts, but found it odd that the display codes were not below the prompt as with all
other display headers within the theme/prompts editor........ so .. I'm assuming it's an MPL I need to modify and or someone has one they've built?

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd appreciate it!

FYI I sent you a detailed reply on my BBS that will help a lot as far as the bulletins go.

I know this message is ancient, but I'm gonna reply anyway.

I think the Mystic bulletin system is sorta useless. If you want to show bulletins, why not just use a regular menu? That way you can easily
    accomplish lightbars.

I might be underestimating the bulletin system though. Does it remember if a user already read certain bulletins & does it only offer them ones they
haven't read yet? That would be cool, and now that I think about it, I bet it can be accomplished with the menu system. There is already some function in place that lets you display certain ansis only once.

You can just about do the same thing (and better) with a menu. The only things you can't do with the menu is where it lists which bulletins are new since your last call, and it can also do a login check. For example during login you can have it say: "There are X new bulletins. Do you want to read them? " or do nothing if there are no new bulletins.
