Does anyone here like flight simulators? Has anyone here tried Microsoft's new Flight Simulator 2020? I bought it when it came out. I've seen some people say the accuracy/realism of flying the planes isn't as good as other flight sims, but I don't mind. And I think the graphics are really great. The graphics are very realistic for most things, and it's pretty cool that it can draw buildings & landmarks & things around the world (using data from Bing Maps).

I've not tried it yet myself, but I've watched numerous videos about it out
of curiosity and it looks pretty amazing. Although I'm sure my PC could run
it decently, I'm curious to give it a shot when the Xbox Series X gets here.
My biggest gripe is that a lot of the Bing data it draws from is kind of old
    - my apartment building doesn't even exist yet in the flyover of Seattle I watched. In fact, my whole neighborhood looks radically different. :P

I think that mey be true of Google Maps data as well (and probably Mapquest). But I think it's still pretty impressive that the flight simulator is able to draw so much detail such as buildings & things across the world from map data. With earlier & other flight simulators, people would need to make a lot of custom scenery add-ons for that level of detail. People can still make custom airports & things for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 for added detail & things like activity around airports & such.

They highlighted it at Satya Nadella's keynote speech for the
Microsoft Ignite conference yesterday. Pretty amazing graphics.

It's definitely extremely impressive, I wasn't implying that it wasn't. Just a little personally bummed that I can't buzz my house. :) RE: Bing vs Google Maps, I think it has to do with the type and quality of the map data. My
street is reasonably up to date on the overhead view on Bing, but Streetside and some other versions of the map are older, and it's easy to imagine FS2020 has some particular requirements for being able to render that data. That
said, one thing I read is that, in addition to other data such as weather and real life commercial fight plans, it'll regularly refresh that data from Bing, which is awesome.
