What are some other use cases people are using them for? Yes a google search would turn this up, but curious what people are doing with them
in the BBS scene.
You know those portable cell phone power banks/batteries people carry to recharge their phones? They can run a Raspberry Pi.
So, one of the main things I've used them for is creating time lapse cameras, which I can drop anywhere in the wilderness I like. A high capacity power bank runs 24-30 hours depending on weather.
I create a hotspot on my cell phone. I power up the camera, and it connects to my hot spot, then (if cell phone service is available) sets its clock over the Internet. I have the Pi running a web server which shows the most recent shot taken by the camera so I can use my phone to pull that up on the Pi to make sure things are aligned properly.
Through the scripts I can tweak things like resolution or how often the Pi should take a photograph.
Then I walk away and come back 24 hours later.
This is outside of Flagstaff, December 2018. I took one of those Rubbermaid tubs you can find for general storage at Walmart, inverted it and cut a hole for the camera to peer out of to protect it from the elements. I put the Raspberry Pi on a rock.

This was with the first gen camera. The subsequent cameras didn't do as well outdoors for some reason. I hear there is a new camera, and I look forward to seeing if it can handle more outdoor stuff.
