Two things you may want to let the developer of MagickaBBS know by the looks of
    this message:

    1) While I don't feel like looking up the actual "standard" I believe the REPLY
kludge is supposed to contain the address the current message is in reply to only, followed by the original MSGID. It seems your REPLY kludge has your node number in it, which I thought was a bit odd. But if it is indeed legit, it's probably just much more advanced than most other software.

    2) It seems the PATH has your node number twice. Not sure if that is MagickaBBS's fault though, as you may be sending through your other system. If that's the case, your other system shouldn't be adding your node number again if it's already there. Since your other software most likely can't or won't be fixed, the MagickaBBS developer could probably add something in regards to NOT adding a node number to the PATH if it is a point system (basically a non-zero point number, which would then let the boss node handle adding it's 2D address).

That said, I haven't seen this software in action yet I don't think. You got this thing live yet where I could check it out?

I've started my latest adventure with Mystic once again on the new server. Nothing really to report yet just that it's installed and configured. Haven't jumped into the menu and/or prompt editing yet, but I only installed it Friday and then left for the weekend Saturday morning. ;)

Thanks. As I mentioned, I wasn't completely sure if the double PATH thing was the software itself, but at least that software is still being developed in which something can be done there at least.

I'm guessing you were sending from Magicka as a point to your Ezycom system as the boss node?

    Hey,

I'm the maker of MagickaBBS.. Thanks a lot for finding those bugs :)

The message code has been in there for ages and no one had picked up on
it before, so I'm glad you found it. I had to look up the specs again and
you are right, so I've fixed it in git (the replyid thing).

As for the path being twice, my crash mail fork does that, (i changed a
few things and changed the name to avoid confusion) but much of it is
still a bit of a black box to me, I will have to see if my other points
    are doing it too.

    Thanks again for your help

Awesome. Nice to meet you, and thanks for contributing to this dying hobby! ;)

again and you are right, so I've fixed it in git (the replyid thing).

I'm not sure, but Tiny may have been one of the first to post messages on this network with your BBS software, so I haven't really gotten a chance to check it
out much. To be honest, I don't really even know why I checked his kludges at the time, maybe it was indeed because I never saw a post from said software before and was just looking more into it.

Either way, no problem. Glad I could be of some help! The only major issue would have been causing reply-linking to not work properly with some other tossers and sysop reader/editors.

As for the path being twice, my crash mail fork does that, (i changed
a few things and changed the name to avoid confusion) but much of it
is still a bit of a black box to me, I will have to see if my other
    points are doing it too.

I've ran into this before with other softwares (Synchronet was one of those at one time even). Every software tends to put it's 2D address into the PATH, however there was probably something overlooked at some point in time long ago.

    1) If said system is a point (anything non-zero after the "."), it probably shouldn't put a 2D address into the PATH - however that may cause issues elsewhere.

    2) The proper way would probably be to put a check in the boss node software that if it's own 2D address is already at the beginning of the PATH (ie: sent from any point system of that node), to simply not add it again.

#2 probably shouldn't be confused with if the node number is anywhere else besides the first in the PATH, as that would more likely be a duplicate message
that came back around, or some kind of circular dependency issue.

    Thanks again for your help

Of course! And again, thanks for your contributions!

We just traded in our travel trailer for a 5th wheel a few weeks ago. Due to our son's soccer tournaments and games filling up our weekends we've only made it up there twice, the day we got it and this past weekend (for only one night). So it'd be nice to get up there a couple more times to get everything squared away before having to close it all up.

We just traded in our travel trailer for a 5th wheel a few weeks ago.

For more room? That's what we want to do as well, just haven't had the
cash, there is a nice one across from our lot for sale, and I'm hoping
they come down by spring. :)

Yes very true. I already miss mine because it's a get away, just nice to
get away from the stink of the city. :)

The windows box the BBS runs on is getting pretty sad... it's needed TLC
for 2 years now and I just keep ignoring it. I just dont' have the
interest in beating windows 10 into submission anymore, so it updates
whenever it wants and restarts and the BBS stays down until I notice it
rebooted and can start the VM. (It used to be automatic, but windwos 10
forked something somewhere and it won't start now without me).

I've just got Fidonet, Ilink, and Retronet to add to Magicka and once
that's done I /may/ be flipping the switch.

Pretty much. It has a lot more actual living space (living room and kitchen with a half bath, master bedroom and bathroom upstairs). The travel trailer we had, had a huge bunkhouse for the kids who while they played in it quite a bit,
never really actually slept in it. So why have it when the wife and I can enjoy

Sounds like the best idea. The kids will eventually stop coming
with you on the weekends when they would rather hang out at home with friends.

Should still be quite awhile for that to happen, and even if they decide to come up at that time they may even want to sleep in a tent out in the yard. ;)

The only thing I dread is moving 100+ FTN links over to a
different configuration that you can't just import an old config
    and everything is there. lol

Even just entering the areas so they are ordered the way you like is
a ton of work. That's what's taking me the longest. But I just pick
away a bit at a time, no rush.

Exactly. As soon as you rush yourself it becomes a burden.

True enough. My kids are both in their twenty's and I have grand kids
now. It's hard for me to remember not everyone is as old as I am. ;)

You of all people know I've tried jumping back on the Mystic train numerous times. Most of them I'd have the entire BBS modded and setup in a few days, and
then would get burned out by the time I was ready to start adding links.

    Not this time. ;)

    I'm 36 (I think). My oldest is 9 and youngest is 6 (7 in a month and a half). I
have time. Just hope I can enjoy life with them till they're old and have families of their own.

Not going that route this time. I've failed too many times in the past. Now that I have solid hardware, I'm taking my merry ass time and doing it right!

Sounds like a plan. I worked too much when my kids were small and didn't
spend much time with them. But I guess that's one of the things we learn
I just didn't learn it in time. :(

I swear I was 18 just the other week.... Now my baby girl is 26 and I
can't figure it out, it's a real head scratcher.

Time seems to fly by faster and faster the older you get. Most likely because we become zombies working for the man and keep grinding it out until we can try
to relax on a day off or vacation.

Summer flew by hardly without notice, and in a month or two there'll probably be snow on the ground. ;(
