• A Project Idea

From Scottie@SRN to All on Tue Dec 20 18:32:24 2011
Would anyone out there like to work with me on writing a IRC Client developed on VB/VS 2008/2010?

I have been working on one for awhile now using console application but at
this point I am at a stand still.

My app will connect to the server and even join a channel. But I am unable to figure out how to code in for user input and message response.

    Hi Scottie,

My app will connect to the server and even join a channel. But I am unable figure out how to code in for user input and message response.

Check out this C# tutorial: http://www.developerfusion.com/article/4581/a-console-irc-bot/

Pages 2 and 3 deal with input and response.

FYI, I'm a C# guy, but I find it pretty easy to read VB code and re-write it in C#, I'm sure you'll have no problem.

Hope that helps unblock you :)
