I think whispernet is a registered trademark of amazon. you may want to just drop the er from your net name before amazon sends you a sies and desist letter.

Yeah, it's a shame it was taken several years ago without my knowledge,
so yeah, I'm going to change the name of this network to
Whisper-Echo-Net, WEN for short. I've got to make other changes to my infopacks and names on the system, but yeah, thanks for letting me know about that. I really liked that name too, oh well. :) I have plans to get the size of the network bigger and I want it to expand so that's
what we'll do.

I'm getting pretty close. The FTN portion of Whisper-Echo-Net is now working as well as QWK networking with Synchronet. I've been tinkering with BinkD (the mailer) and I've learned quite a bit in the last few
days.
If you haven't already and this applies to those interested in the network, fill out the Whispet-Echo-Net application at:
http://vintagebbsing.com/whisper.ssjs
That way I have you on file, basic information about your system to
keep track of who participates.

No offense, but I am guessing amazon doesn't give two shits about what
is happening on BBSes nowdays. Usally when a company sends a cease and desist it's to a high profile website that is trying to copy their
ideas.

I got your application and I'm ready to move forward. I sent an e-mail
to both e-mail addresses you provided in the application, but I haven't heard from you yet. I figured I would write here since I know you're
able to get messages here. The first e-mail was sent to your
mockingbird e-mail which came back and bounced. The alternate e-mail
seem to went through, so you might check that when you get a chance.
Bill McGarrity had something to say to Jon Justvig <=-
I can't understand why the first address bounced. I never received anything on the alternate either.

This e-mail address bounced back too. I don't know what's going on with your system. I hope you can get it working okay. Is there another alternate e-mail address I can send to so we can start to communicate on WEN?

OK... I saw the issue... the yahoo smtp you're using is on the spambag list... thus my system is bouncing it. Netmail it to me at 1:266/404.

That's a bummer. I'll send it over by netmail. Perhaps I could start using the Google for e-mail for purposes such as this. Thanks for the heads-up.

Not a problem. I'm surprised Yahoo isn't blacklisted everywhere... lol!!
There is a way to allow e-mail from me or anyone else by modifying
the /sbbs/ctrl/dnsbl_exempt.cfg file to exempt an address from the blacklist.

I sent out a netmail to you from my BBS (1:298/6) but have yet to get a reply. If a reply had been sent, it's lost in cyberspace. We'll get things moving, just got to get pass these little things.

I replied to you... must have zoomed somewhere. What I answered was
send me all the particulars, node addy, your IBN and a list of your
echos. I think we already setup an areafix pw. Also, for now I'll
just be taking echos. Files and the games will be for the future.
BTW, I added your smtp to the exempt cfg. Hopefully that will resolve
it.
Talk later... it's 80 degrees here and I need some wind therapy!!

I have this noted here what you had requested. I have to get some communication between both our systems before we can proceed. I am sending you a netmail now to your Fidonet address to see if you receive it. Please reply when you see it, or if you don't see it within a day
or so let me know here to what we can do. I need to add you to the nodelist so I don't have a WEN node number for you yet. Since the WEN
FTN is fairly new, I'm figuring out a system where I can use people's
area code with part of their number so it would look something like 36:973/2 which is what I think I'll have as your node number. Don't put
it in your system yet or write it in stone. Let's get communication working first. I still have your application on file. I apologize for the time it's take to get this issue resolved. It seems communication between our systems has set us back since the 27th of May which is when
I got your app. So please continue to bare with me as we resolve this issue. Watch out for a netmail from me. :)
BTW, I added your smtp to the exempt cfg. Hopefully that will resolve
it.
I'll try to make another step and send you another e-mail as well as a netmail to see if you can get that. AT&T is my ISP and they use Yahoo!
as their e-mail provider so it's made it more difficult than it should
be. I haven't had any problem with anyone else with my yahoo provider
so this is relatively new to me. I'll keep it in mind for future reference to use google instead.

It's currently 63F tonight and was in the lower 70s this afternoon so we've had pretty good weather with a very mild wind here in Kansas.

Just applied...
We got your application Allen. It shouldn't be too long, just got to get you a node number and get a feed started. Lord Time takes care of that and will probably get ahold of you if he hasn't already. I'm excited that you will be joining us at WEN!
