True..

I had to drop it, because needing to use PeerBlock to block out the
bots, and other countries, meant the BBS wouldn't connect to the games server...never mind very few over here were playing the games.

Dunno if you would need peerblock so much if you woukd jus tlet sbbs do its job.. I get a new bot in every once in a while, and zap.. its gone..

Now, if I could get the CAPTCHA deal with SBBS working (I'm still
having issues understanding the docs), I might reconsider.

Captcha? in Ecwebv4? I think I tested mine a long time ago and had any issues, but if it is the one with ecebv4 (only one I can think unless its the older interface) speak with Echicken on that one.. dunno for sure there.

I'm not using the ecwebv3 or 4 right now. I found a modified version
of the basic theme, and was using that. I haven't had the energy this
week to try to get it set up.

The CAPTCHA deal was one done I think by Lord Blackfair...but I was
having trouble understanding some of the docs. These program and utility authors need to realize that not all of us are as computer/programming
literate as they are.

having trouble understanding some of the docs. These program and utility authors need to realize that not all of us are as computer/programming literate as they are.

I lot of it is actually notated in the JS and for me is a bit easier than going back and froth from docs anyway. I remember seeing a captcha at one time in sncweb, but I think that was being used in the time I took my hiatus from bbsing, So I actually went from the first runemaster type versions straight to ecweb. Wish I could help you more.

No worries. I had been iced in since Tuesday, when we got all the snow
and ice...today was my first day out, and I had to get some groceries
for my Mom. So, I haven't done much BBS work today. I have to go back to
her place tomorrow to put her trash can back up...garbage pickup was
delayed a day for all the icy roads.

Sunday, as we're going from a threat of winter to a threat of tornadoes
in less than a week. Such is life in Tornado Alley/Dixie Alley.

in less than a week. Such is life in Tornado Alley/Dixie Alley.

Gotta love it.. has went from and windchill of -7 to close to 60 degrees in a few days.. next you know there will be BlizzardNados, and no that is not a premise for a cheesy movie either..

Rock, before sunrise last Tuesday. I've seen the dust devils during the
summer, but I wouldn't want to get into them...you can get blasted by sandspurs!!

It's about as bad. Never mind the saying that "life's a beach, then
you get sand in your crack". :P

That was a bear getting the sand out of the clothes, bathing suit,
shoes, etc. Nudists don't have to worry about the clothing, but they get
the sand more readily. :P
