    The world sees. The EU is going to ban Americans from coming into their country
    - lol... go Trump.

    It has been quite a while since I broke it down into percentage of
    population, but there are/were a lot of countries (including a couple in
    the EU) that had a higher infection rate than we did. We just were beating them on raw number, but our population also beat theirs.

    I still don't understand why anyone would think it could have been stopped.
    I guess some people think Trump is God, just like Obama was. There have
    been reports that it was here long before anyone knew what it was. If it
    was already here long before January ...???

    Unless, of course, Trump, despite being a dumb dumb, was able to somehow
    master time travel, just like that dumb dumb W did. ;)

    Actually stopping it would take two things that the American public
    would *never* do. First, a six-week total lockdown, not commerce,
    travel, etc. Totalitarian lockdown. Second, about 2+ years of no
    travel or international commerce, until other countries had done the
    same lockdown, or until a vaccine was found.

    Barring that, the best course is to only slow things down enough to not overwhelm emergency services. Closing major event locations and bars
    would likely have been enough. Given initial projections, the fact that
    only a bit over 100k have died from this is pretty impressive. It also
    looks like later mutations are even less harmful and effective.

    "Flatten the curve." was never supposed to stop anything.
