I'm reminded of a quote from that wonderful Lost In Space movie, "They eat their wounded."

It shows that the "tried and true" political standards within the DNC are going by the wayside and the party is being pulled further to the left. The question that remains is if this shift is sustainable or if the long-term life of the party memebers or if there will be a re-centering effect sometime in the future.

Yes, I'm trying really hard here to stay detatched based on my own political stance which doesn't line up with the DNC. It is up to registered party members to determine if the platform planks that have been introduced line up with their views.

Ok, the trollbait is so good I am going to bite it.

Why is the Democrat Party ceasing to exist after this election year?

Oh yeah, I remember that film.

I was thinking about the effects in the global US politics, but I have checked and it looks like individual senators are not THAT powerful. Still it makes me wonder if filling lists with radicals will cause the Democrats to lose votes. In the case refered in the link I guess it makes no difference since supposedly that senatorial election is pre-decided, but what when that is not the case?

Hmm.... food for thought. They said Trump would lose because he was such a radical and see the results...

I got a flyer in the mail yesterday that screamed at me:

"JOE BIDEN HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY THE RADICAL LEFT!"

"DON'T LET THEM TAKE OVER AMERICA!"

I looked at it and thought "Well, that's plainly not true... Biden has already stated he's against things like Medicare for all, "free" college, and other things that were part of "The Radical Left's" platform.

"But," I said to myself, "Wouldn't it be great if it was true?"

Since the race in question is Massachusetts the results are pretty solid. What may become the informative action then is what the actual turnout and percentages are at the end of the day. A good analyst would be able to read the impact of those numbers on future races and help their respective parties plan accordingly.

I always vote my conscious regardless of the party. I cannot support the >Democratic party as long as people like Chuck Schumer and Nancy Polosi are >running the party. I also feel the party has gone so far to the left I can >longer be a part of it.

AMEN to that. They have lost it and gone off the extreme leftist deep end o the crazy pool. They are no longer the Democrat party of the 70's/80's. Th are now the socialist DemonCrap party. So long as Skeletor Pelosi is in cha they are on a one way trip to extinction.

    MrPlow

I find the reactions I am seeing intriguing.

Lots of ex-Democrats shunning their former party. A similar thing in Spain would be unconciveable. People in Spain gets married to their party, so to speak. You see people changing sides every now and then, but not with the intensity I am witnessing from US folks.

DNC has gotten over time. Statements like "America was never that great"

that's what democrats love to say. i hear someone say that and i walk up
to them and give them an earful. america was great before they moved the jobs overseas , when our educational system wasnt dogshit, when family was important.

democrats are responsible for hurting america.

I couldn't find that one but I did find the Georgia State Rep Vernon Jones who resigned from the DNC and endorsed Trump for 2020.

They will blame the educational system on Republicans who cut funding, but
the actual problem is what they are (or are not) teaching, which is on the Democrats.

Family not being important is on them in the sense that they make fun of
others who say it is, and also seem to like to fund things that make it
less imporant... you don't need any breadwinner (male or female) when we
are willing to pay (and control) you.

November being a real mess. I do however believe the issues will
benefit Trump and this will call for investigations by the Dems and
will call for a recount and perhaps even nullify the entire
election. Like you said. It will definetly be interesting.

That phrase has been running around in my head the past 6 months. It aptly describes 2020.
