I reject your reality and suggest my own:

2020: A new COVID virus is detected. Action is taken. Some too
restrictive, some not enough. The world rebels against the
vaccine. The vaccine's rapid development was pushed by the
Trump administration.

2021 and on: The world is fatigued of restrictions and even
those that would support rapid reactions no longer suport it.

2020 an ensuing years: RACIST!, Facist!, and more ill-informed
comments from all sides of the ailse. Remember, globally, there
are more sides than "left" and "right."

The only way we are going to get out of this is if we join our
thoughts to form a pathway forward, whatever that may be.

Every tool suggested to fight the pandemic has been rejected
by some group or another. Leadership, real leadership, is needed
to join the oppositions together and develop real, acceptable,
sustainable solutions.

COVID-19 is with us, very potentially, forever. It will mutate,
just as the yearly influenza mutates, only faster.

Denying reality is dangerous. Denying that we have possible
solutions is willfull ignorance.

Now, before I get called a "lefty" or a "righty," I'm neither.
I think the people, you and I, have been left behind by our
respective governments. We are not heard. Left, middle, right,
we are not heard.

What we need are not moderates. What we need are people that are
working together regardles of their opinions.

We don't have that.
