I'm taking my No-Code Tech at the end of the month and a Friend gave me a Icom 25a 2 meter mobile. My question is what kind software should I get to try out some digital modes? Their is a local Packet BBS which I'd love to try and connect to, but I'm at a loss as to what software program to get to decode
this info...
I Don't own a TNC, but I do have a capable sound card, which is what I was thinking of using...
I tried Ham radio Deluxe, and a few others, but it seems they can't auto
detect the mode,is their such a program?

Have you tried FLDigi? It's free and will work on Win and Linux platforms. Check here: www.w1hkj.com/Fldigi.html . Not sure if it will do the mode you want, but it does everything out there I am aware of.
