Greetings! Tim, KB9SNL here in southern Indiana area. Tech since 1998, General since 2005, Sysop back in the late 90s for a bit, and brought
my board back in 2008 (bwrbbs.ddns.net).
Welcome to the foray!
A bunch of us should make an Echolink conference one of these days or something. With all that spare time we all have. Ha!

I'm studying the book in my spare time. At this rate I'll be 60 before I am licensed, but I will get there! ;)

It really is. Read over a study guide or two, take online sample tests
until you can pass consistently, and you're good to go. There is no more Morse code requirement. The technician level test can almost be passed just
they should have morse code. it might come in handy some day.
certain snobbery in the hobby towards "no-code" hams, so I made it a point to learnI'm a no code ham we went to a super station. 40 Acre sight with 45 towers. 6 $12,000
Just re-launched my BBS (the Midnight Express BBS) and wanted to know who many sysops are also HAM's...Hey Eric! Are you using VADV or Synch?
Seems that there are quite alot...
