    Find a local club to join, buy a cheap 2 Meter rig so you can talk on weekly ARES Nets.. Watch for Ham Fests to
    maybe find some good deals on radios. Wait until June and goto a field day in your area. Congrats and Happy

    There are some good You Tube series out there if you'd prefer to study alone
    or if there aren't any classes around to join. Just make sure to confirm
    the dates on them because the questions change every few years.
