It should come as no surprise that ham radio operators are drawing comparisons between Pokémon GO and Amateur Radiosport.

Niantic's earlier game, Ingress, was fun to play using ham radio to communicate with buddies during events or coordinate late-night
"attacks" on the other faction.
I liked the concept of Ingress, though these sort of games don't yet fit in with my lifestyle. Anyway gameplay would have to be opportunistic, adapting to my regular movements, rather than my movements being for gameplay. :)
