  • PC case stickers

    One thing I miss lately is the little square case stickers that probably 99% of PC cases were made to use. I remember most PC cases having a little square space somewhere on the front that was made for a branding sticker, which gave small computer shops a way to brand their PCs. For home-built PCs, it let people choose something related to their own personality to put there.

    About 10 or 11 years ago, I remember seeing someone on eBay selling some PC case stickers with logos from Intel and AMD, for various CPUs, with writing that said "Fast As F*ck!" I thought those were pretty funny..

    These days, I rarely see a PC case with a space for a case sticker. I miss that little piece of customization you could add to a PC..

    Yup, I had a bag of those stickers I had to throw out. They where all messed up and no longer good. From when I sold computers for my business.

    Damn yeah that was a cool thing :) I had plenty of: "Linux Inside" stickers and others showing the RedHat logo, when I was working at RedHat. I still probably have almost one hundred at my mom house.

    I actually stick some on my laptops from time to time :)

    I've been using AMD CPUs in my computers for a long time, and a long time ago, I had a friend who was all into Intel, to the point of feeling that AMD was crap, so I bought an AMD case sticker for my PC, and I enjoyed seeing the look on his face when he saw that. :) I think Intel makes some great products too though.

    I also liked the older square case stickers, with the clear bubbly top added to them. I still occasionally see some case stickers today, but they're usually just flat (paper-thin) metallic looking things, and sometimes different shapes.. I don't like those nearly as much as the older style square PC case stickers.

    I have a vinyl cutter and do some vinyl work on the side (vehicles, store windows, banners and small signs). I've decorated my computer box with various logos and emblems. The front of my box has that little square place for the "bubble sticker". The one on mine says "Linux Inside" with Tux the penguin.
