WinZIP has more options than the Windows version, and handles more archives.

I use 7Zip as well, love it's simple interface and how easy it is to set
up the Shell (right click) options it offers, plus it can read a number
of different archive types and make self extracting 7Zip files..
And it's Free! My only caveat would be that on the few occasions I've
tried compressing a large volume of files, say 50 meg or so, and had it
fail. I don't know if this would be an issue with WinZip and I believe
I got around the problem at the time by using WinRar (not Freeware) but
it was a problem with 7Zip. For day to day stuff it's what I use though
and it's never failed me on more reasonably sized volumes.
I generally use it's plain Zip, rather than 7Zip, archiving though since
then you don't have to worry if others it's going to have 7Zip or not.
