Dove-net doesn't have a marketplace, so figured I'd ask here.

In the market for an Atari 130XE, preferably working and cheap, or not
    working and cheaper. :)

    That is all.

Hey if you get any good private replies to this I'd appreciate it a whole bunch if you could forward me information for any decent ones that you don't decide to go with yourself. I'm very interested in picking up a new Atari 8-bit system myself at some point here.
    Thank you much!

Can do, I'll be posting some photos in the near future on Dove-Net when I
start modding my 800. I may try the dishwasher trick on it to remove some of the yellowing, the case is lookin REAL old these days.

What dishwasher trick? I suppose it depends on why your case has yellowed, but the last time I read about it this had something to do with flame retardants in the plastic and exposure to light over a long period of time - not something a wash would normally fix.

There is a solution called "retrobrite" (essentially peroxide and OxyClean) that you can make, spread on the plastic, then expose it to UV light. A day or so later the plastic would be back to its original colour. I forget how it works on a basic level, but I remember an interesting read on the subject four or five years ago.

My case isn't terrible, but it could be better, and since I gotta take it
apart to mod it I might as well give it a shot. You are correct though it's basically oxyclean, the best hydrogen proxide you can get and a UV light.

I got lucky and scored a "like new" 130XE off eBay for $62 shipped. You can get one for about $120-$150 seems like the average, but keep watching ebay, tons of stuff goes up there all the time. I'm actually looking at some of the Amiga stuff now. I got it bad.

In other news I'm hacking my 800 and my 130XE a bit. Once I have everything setup I'll probably setup a BBS on the 800 with some other goodnesss thrown in. SHould be fun.

What kinds of additions and modifications are you making? The primary one that I'm thinking of adding to a 130XE, should I be fortunate enough to pick one up is that expansion board by Robert Puff.

I'm gonna get the Ultimate1MB board + SIDE Cart for the 130XE, it's a minimally invasive 1mb ram up grade that has a RTC, flashable OSs and a bunch of other features. the SIDE is a cart that stores/loads .atr and .xex files from a CF memory card or low power ide drive (notebook size).

My 800 is getting a Incognito board which is basically what I mentioned above in one unit. Only works with the 800.

Considering the Stereo Upgrade (adds another sound (SID) chip) for either, and also considering the VideoXE upgrade for the 130XE (adds new video modes and goes up to 15bit color).

The Incognito board should be the coolest. I'll take some photos when I get it.

Oh, I also have the KarinMaxi Board for the 130XE (playing with it right now). Plugs into the cart ports and lets you use normal IBM floppy drives of any size/format. Pretty pimpin.

Alright I've got the tab open now, when I work through some more of the work in the other tabs that I've got open today I should have time to look at it for awhile. First glance looks pretty interesting, I must say. :)
