It dials out now and shows your phone number the password and 100. It then makes the connection and result code 116. It then times out and synchronet reloads.

I recommend you use FTP instead. That old Baja script hasn't been supported since like 1997, so it's not too suprising that it's not working with Vertrauen
today.
