    That sounds interesting. I haven't gotten one because I haven't had a
project to use it on and I figured it would end up as a paper weight. I'd be interested to hear how your project progresses.

mame on a raspberry Pi? Is that got enough processing power? Alot of those mame roms can be pretty intense.

Hope it works out for you, My mame machine is running on a Intel Core i3 system. Works a treat.

Have to agree, I've had a few PIs, not the latest though... but gave away two before ever using it, and the third tried to use linux/xbmc, but just not fast enough... I'm waiting on a kickstarter project that uses a newer cpu, and may try that, there's also GooBand Doo MS8 (available on amazon) that I'm considering giving a try)... in the end been happier with the brix i3-5010U than
any of them for htpc use. Been meaning to get a video game front end.. bought several fightpad style usb controllers for that purpose (sega layout), but haven't done much.

Then again, getting BBS stuff done has been slow going too.

I'm using Retropie including various MAME implementations (they are plugins under the system). MAME arcade ROMS can be a huge pain, but the RPi2 is generally powerful enough to play them. Problem is you need to find the right combination of ROM + MAME plugin.

There's an interesting article on a site called Midwestern Mac that gives
some good advice on which MicroSD card to buy for your Pi. Apparently there are some pretty big differences in the performance of the Pi if you get
certain cards. It's an interesting read and worth a look.
