    Hi All

I am after same help with windows 10 please.

I have been using wibdows 7 for my bbs, but I must have pressed schedule
to install window 10 by accident so got up this morning and now windows 10 is installed.
every thing seem to be working well BBS/Binkd and sbbsecho But a message
came up I had to install NTYDM, which I did and told me to reboot, which
I did, put didn't install right as I found out its was used for my door and
dos programs, each time I ran bre test a error for me to close or egnore

    The full error is

16 bit ms-dos subsystem Bre test, NTVDM has Encountered a system error. a device attached to the system is not functioning (Close or Ingnore)

    any help would be greatfull

I now were the option to Restore back to windows 7 , but would like
to see if I can fix this error before I do,

    Thank you

What is "Bre test"? Does this error only occur with that DOS program/game (have you tried others)?

I believe Windows 10 has no 16 bit stack anymore, you'll have to run an emulator of whatever type needed. For DOS DOSBox generally is one of the best. VM is another. I still run DOS games that way including the DOOMs under Windows 10 (which I rarely use, generally I use Linux).

... A crises is when you CAN'T say let's forget about the whole thing!

I believe Windows 10 has no 16 bit stack anymore

There are 32-bit editions of Windows 10 and they still include NTVDM support (for executing 16-bit DOS programs).
