Does anyone know how the registration information was ever entered into Telix 3.51 for DOS back in the day?

I don't know if you found your answer for this yet, but it was a
program caled BRANDTLX.EXE or BRAND.EXE in the same directory as Telex. Just exicute this program, and enter the info it asks and your copy
will be registered.

Ugh. Not that screen... The shareware nag screen that tries to explain what shareware is and tells you to press any key when you understand
what shareware means.
When I'm not using ConnectBot on my Android devices, and actually on my PC, I prefere the mTCP Telnet on FreeDOS (with Virtualbox) orHave you used dosbox and if so what do you think vs FreeDOS?
Synchterm. Yay for open source!
... Unless someone writes up an open source asking use to press any key when we understand the concept of open source. :p

terminate is not similar to telix. maybe telemate is.I found telemate 4.21 which is OK but it doesn't have scipting via menu items. I found telix 3.51 shareware and that is a nice upgrade compared with the 3.22 I've been using since it came out.

I've never used FreeDOS before.

it is worth take a look at FreeDOS in a VM, even on actual hardward.
As far as BBSing, FreeDOS in a VM does well, but I cannot do full
screen like I could with SyncTERM. DOSBox, I'm struggling to get TCP/IP
to work now, but you can emulate a modem and it works.

I just received donations of 2 not-so-old laptops (2005-07 era) and they run FreeDOS like a dream. I was able to get nettworking going, but failed with sound. With the proof-of-concept that it will run on them, I've temporarily moved development to KVM and hope to get a virtual BBS running on them in DOS.
They have modems that still work!get
It was really awesome seeing jayscafe in fullscreen glory. Made me want to
on the stick about displaying some ANSI art.

FreeDOS 1.2. I had to burn the legacy ISO to get it to install. I sawI just received donations of 2 not-so-old laptops (2005-07 era)S.

That is awesome! I have some interest in having older hardware
around, but the very limited time and funds keep me from doing it.
The thrift stores (namely Goodwill, hadn't been to the local ones) do
not have older hardware around.
Just out of curiosity, what version of FreeDOS? 1.1 or 1.2? Sounds
like, possibly, 1.2.

I don't know what will result of the networking/modem emulation but I'm pretty sure you'll get a good FullScreen interface via a Web Browser.

Please, post your FreeDOS success/failures. I've got networking to work, fighting sound and failing. But, still can't find a terminal program that w work on telnet and use xyz file transfers.I wish I could help. Right now I'm working on a real retro dos 6.22 system.
