Just want to see if anybody tried the new Pixel for PC from the team at raspberrypi.

    https://www.raspberrypi.org/blog/pixel-pc-mac/

Had a dual boot running of Puppy Linux and windows XP on that poor P4 512mb netvista. Honestly my Pi2 can run circle around it. But like the form factor and like to have an extra machine just buzzing in the background.

Puppy is giving reasonable performance on a browser but XP can't really handle anything more than Explorer, firefox it's hard on the thing. even playing
    audio stream is hard :-/

On an old atom laptop i have xubuntu and it's fine. Was considering it for the netvista. But i debian with pixel must be even more frugal as a gui.

Maybe i'll go back to just a text interface when it was running my bbs with a text only ubuntu 14.04 LTE. Did a very good job for that. It's an image of
that netvista that run the bbs, maybe I should put the image back on that pc :-D

Anyway, sometime i wonder if i just gut the netvista and find a way to use it as a monitor only for a PI .

    So the aftermath?

Pixel only really work well if you have more than 256mb of ram. So with only 256 it was really struggling.

so I'm writing this using the browser Pale Moon under tahrpup version 6.0.6, still puppy but build from ubuntu 14.04. It's better than the old slako
version i had. Puppy still as useful recognizing about any drive format you
can trow at it, make it really useful for data recovery. And still frugal in resource.
