so I'm wondering how you navigate the bbs boards. I know its /# then a number there is subboards?
It depends on the BBS. For a BBS using the Synchronet "classic" command shell, try just using 'J' to jump to a message base. You can also enter * to list the subs in the current message group, # to change to a sub-board number or /* to list groups and /# to switch to a message group. A group is just a collection of sub-boards (subs).
