Howdy - getting my virtual feet wet getting back into BBS's - I don't build model cars any more - my hobby is now playing (and painting) X-Wing mini's - I have about 70 model cars & pickups from the old days. Anyone looking to purchase? :-)

:) I used to like building models every so often. It just seems like it
takes a lot of time to do it well, so I never built models very often. The last time I built a model kit was a USS Enterprise 1701-A in 2007. Got it all done and painted to my satisfaction (still somewhat amateur-looking in places but not bad). Then after moving a couple times, a couple pieces kept breaking off the model (specifically, the engine nacelles). It also had a stand that broke too. I could glue them back on, but the glue joint never was as strong as the original joint. :/

You are correct! And I found that the painting of the little details was
more fun and relaxing than the actual glueing and waiting, so I'd wind up starting a second and then a third. :-) I got to where I was putting plug
wires and such in them and using my Dremel to detail out some stuff. :-)

Yep - I had a few cars & pickups on a shelf at work, then changed jobs and
had to box the stuff up. Was going to pull out for the new office and pieces were broken. I still have them boxed up somewhere...

Oh on the painting thing - that's what's cool about painting the Star Wars minis - I am just painting and not glueing. :-) They come in the box fully pre-painted, but once I saw that people were customizing with different
paint jobs I started doing that too, so you don't have the issue of breaking parts (well, any more than you would normally in the game) and you get to
'show off' your painting every time you pull something to the gaming table.

    Lots of fun! :-)

Actually I think I posted that before I realized you had Dove_Net. :-)
I did some pruning, though, and using YOUR BBS for the 'main one' - at
least until I couldn't access any more. :-(

I used to build model cars. I most enjoyed painting and
detailing the small stuff, but do that with X-Wing ships
and Gaslands cars now, so I've been selling off the collection
    a little at a time...

    Any interest?

Beging an avid Star Wars fan since 1977, I'm naturally curious about the X-Wings. Would love to see pics or videos.
