    Hi Everyone,

I hope I'm posting properly here, I haven't been on a BBS in about 25 years. Anyone into 3D printing? I became obsessed with it about 2 years ago. I now have 2 Robo3d R1 cartesian printers and an Anycubic Kossel Plus delta printer.

I've been wanting to get one badly. I want to print parts for my multirotors, and other variuse models. would also be nice to do componet case printing, etc for all the electronic tinkering I do :)

I've thought about getting a 3D printer, but I'm not sure what I'd print with it. I've heard of people using them to make parts & stuff for fixing things around the house, which may be useful, although I'm not sure if the material would be as strong or durable as what I'd like. Otherwise, a 3D printer is one of those things that seems like it would be cool to have, but I don't feel like I have a good use for one right now.

I think it's one of those devices that will find uses for itself. I have seen the results from 3D printing - one of the guys at work uses his to create models from TV sci-fi shows, and they are quite impressive. I personally would like one for making cases for projects, as I can see the designs becoming available for 3D printing. That would eliminate one of the bigger barriers to home construction for me. :)

So a 3D printer is on my wish list, but not a priority item ATM. :)

I'd love for a maker lab around me to offer 3d printing on a time and materials basis.

My local JC just got a $750,000 grant to build a maker lab. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with.
