Look at the Synchronet "Services" log/window for output from nntpservice.js.
should give some indication what the problem is.

First off, make sure you have the proper access requirements set in SCFG for those specific message areas (obviously if you didn't set anything specific,
should still work).Yes there is a "F-something" button but still I used it and had some problem. Like the server is refusing a connection but I am still able to get posts and read therm and list groups so Idk what's up.
I don't think it works exactly like email in which button you hit to reply. There's an added one I think to the left of the normal "reply" button (reply forward, or some such.. I don't remember exactly).

Nick

Did you configure Thunderbird to always log into the NNTP server?
... I used to think I was vague ... but now I'm not so sure!!!!!

I do not have access to that. I do not run the BBS.

Yep. That's exactly what I was referring to.
Also, I thought I recall you telling Digitalman that you do not run that system.. Why are you posting with the name of the BBS as your alias? Just wondering..

That usually means the sysop of the BBS in question (Darkages) is
using a normal/regular user account on Vertrauent for QWK networking
and not a QWKnet account. :-(

Ah. That would explain it. Sounds scary! :)

Idk. I didn't even provide a password. So something is weird here.

I have done so now. I have selected it to request authentication and it works as I am writing this message to you from Thunderbird.

Probably explains the "fucked up" origin line as well.

You're not doing anything wrong. Apparantly the system you're connecting to is,
though.
For example, you *should* be posting as your own alias, as in Deavmi or whatever. But as you can see in the headers (if you can see them) your name in the TO and FROM fields is always "Darkages", which it shouldn't be.

I just changed the "Darkages" account here on Vertrauen from a regular user account to a QWKnet account. No word from that sysop. <sigh>

Well, it seemed like the guy using the account had enough instinct to create a new account in order to continue his conversations. :)
