    Yup that was my experience the last time I had a GIGANEWS subscription. It
    was good at the beginning but turned into a giant spam free-for-all.

    It's be just another othernet, with a different backing technology. Why not?

    newsgroups I'm pretty sure you lose the to: field. Everything is to

    if you are doing it with synchronet bbses it's waaaay quicker and easier than qwk or ftn though.

    I like the idea that the media is platform independent. Doesn't need to be a BBS, could be a news spool on a web site somewhere.

    I'm interested in exploring the idea. Won't be using Hamster Playground though, wrong OS for me - all of my server stuff happens on Linux, has been that way since 2007-2008.
