At the end of the day after working at a screen most of the time, it feels good to just give the eyes and ears a rest from all the stuff pouring over the internet. I live barely 30 minutes from the closest gate to
Algonquin. But I already live in a fairly secluded spot. There is a small lake 50 feet from the house. My closest visible neighbor from the house
is across that lake. Plenty of nature sounds just outside my house.
Mornings seem to be the best: cool air wafting through the house, birds getting busy, fog or mist in the valley, and no technology to think about.
On some evenings I'll crank up the stereo until the windows rattle if I
need to get immersed in some good tunes for a few minutes and feel the pounding bass.

:/ I use mobile internet for internet/bbs access. There was a time when I felt that I was "falling behind" without unlimited high-speed internet,
but the mobile version is perfectly fine at the house. I can get all the video I need via the DSL at my shop. I've no shortage of material to
watch.
