Hello all, I am developing my own operating system in x86 asm, mostly as a learning experiens on assembly language and system level programming, and I have found a few good websites that have helped alot. But I am having trouble finding information on setting up the Interupt table before switching to
Pmode. Does anyone have any info that might help? O could anyone point me somewhere with a good tutorial? Thanks much in advance.

I remember reading a book in the univeristy library from the early-mid '90s
on how to write an OS for an i386 or better CPU. This wasn't the same book
for which Minix was written, either. It was actually not a badly written
    book.

Maybe I'll go jog my memory over my former university's catalog and if I
find a match I'll respond with the ISBN. Maybe it's in circulation wherever you're at.

Sorry for the delay. I got distracted a few days ago, but I found the book
I remembered reading a long time ago. I was much younger when I read it and didn't know what I could do with it at the time, but I do recall that this
book pretty much works you through the process of writing an operating
system, including whatever intialization for protected mode you were lo
king for. I'm certain it's not the only book of its kind, though, and that there are other possibly better sources out there.

At any rate, maybe if you're lucky your library has this.
