• OpenDoors drop file support

    Hi all -

I'm working on a BBS door game using OpenDoors 6.2. The documentation for OpenDoors says the BBS name is stored in od_control.system_name, but it will only be available if the BBS produces a DORINFO?.DEF drop file. In my experience with OpenDoors so far, the only drop file I've been able to successfully use with it is DOOR32.SYS. I tried switching to DORINFO#.DEF, but my door gave an error saying it was unable to read the COM port.

The documentation included in the OpenDoors 6.2 package says it's for 6.00, so I suppose the documentation may be outdated. Does OpenDoors 6.2 only support DOOR32.SYS?

To my knowledge, OpenDoors 6.2 should still support the other (older) drop file
formats, but that may be be supported when you build a 32-bit executable, or at
least you may need to pass the socket descriptor on the command-line (since it won't be coming from the drop file).
