    I don't like baseball.

I'm completely enchanted by the fact that the Hall of Fame football game was cancelled due to poor field conditions, though.

Nope lol. It's football season down here, then it will be crisket season. But when it comes to sport, I'm more of a doer than a watcher, so for me personally, it's the tail end of the winter cross country season, then a month's break before track and field starts. :-)

    Hi

    it's called soccer!!

Ahh, as european my tears comes out, it is called football ;)
Because we paly it just with our foot. The Football you have it
in the states we call it American Football. But as far I know the
in Amarica the name Football has nothing to do with our foot is
because the ball (egg) is exactly one foot long.
    Maybe anyone can confirm that?

    Best regards,
    Rocksteady

Well, in America the kicking game is an important part of any NFL
game, so in essence, it does have something to do with feet. <g>

As for the dimensions, great trivia question! I found this but can't
confirm it due to Roger Goodell's & the NFL's strict and totally
absurd punishment on Tom Brady & "deflate-gate".

"Footballs The NFL, NCAA and high schools use footballs that are 11 to
    11.25 inches long, 28 to 28.5 inches around lengthwise, 21 to 21.25
inches around widthwise They are inflated to 12.5 to 13.5 pounds."

It's called "football" because it is a game played on foot. as opposed to polo, which is played on a horse.

Although it's been known as "soccer" here for many years, there is an incerasing use of the term "Association Football" as a name for the game, to distinguish it from Australian Rules (AFL) football that is dominant here (which is a totally different and very unique game!).
