Title: Refried Beans
Categories: Beans
Yield: 1 Batch
1 cn Black or pinto beans;
- drained
1/2 White onion; finely chopped
1/2 ts Cumin powder
1/4 ts Chilli powder
1/2 ts Salt
Canola oil
Lime juice; a few drops
Refried beans are one of those foods I like that I can't buy locally.
Thankfully, they're pretty easy to make. You can easily double the
recipe if you want.
Heat the oil in a large skillet. Add the spices. Once they begin to
bubble, add the onion and fry on medium heat for about 1 minute. Add
the beans and continue to fry for five minutes, adding more oil if
necessary. Remove from heat, add lime juice, and mash the beans with
a potato masher.
Best served fresh but will keep fine in the fridge for a few days.
