    From Nick Boel@1:154/700 to Fidonet.FIDOSOFT.HUSKY,Fidonet.FMAI on Sat May 2 08:02:05 2026
    Hello All,

Not sure exactly where to write this, but these seem to be the best two places I can think of as both husky and fmail seem to have the best handling and utilities for JAM message areas.

I'm not looking to publish results of this or anything, as posting names is a bit too personal, but..

Does anyone know of a JAM utility that can pull statistics out of message bases in regards to /who/ has posted messages and how many they have posted while possibly even creating a list of "top posters" or something in that regard?

    Regards,
    Nick

I tried, and got a lot of "Unknown Keyword" responses from just about every line in my config.

    areastat /home/user/fido/etc/config
    areastat/lnx 1.9 2023-02-24
    Unknown keyword: "name"
    Unknown keyword: "sysop"
    Unknown keyword: "location"
    Unknown keyword: "address"
    Unknown keyword: "address"
    Unknown keyword: "address"

.. and goes on for each and every keyword.

I also tried my areas file directly:

    Unknown keyword: "netmailarea"
    Unknown keyword: "badarea"
    Unknown keyword: "dupearea"
    Unknown keyword: "localarea"
    Unknown keyword: "localarea"
    Unknown keyword: "echoareadefaults"
    Unknown keyword: "echoarea"
    Unknown keyword: "echoarea"

    .. and so on.

Is it broken? Or am I pointing it to a improper config file? It's part of the husky project, so when it says:

    areastat/lnx 1.9 2023-02-24

    Usage: areastat <config>

I would only assume that it means the husky config. *shrug*

I am using it. It does not use husky fidoconfig but a config of its own.

I see that now. Thanks for the heads up!
