And then you get the mental attitude of "it won't happen to me" teenagers (and some adults) have who take chances of one kind or another.
So many accidents are caused by distracted drivers (on the phone,
texting, etc) and speed. I've seen many people on bikes talking on their phone.
Hit a bump and there goes the phone.
Should my phone ring while I'm riding (and don't recognise the ring tone) I'll check it later. If its my bosses ring tone I pull off the road
somewhere.

thing then, but being inattentive was also something that usually got
mentioned as a "how it happened."

Yes.. they *told* us what lead up to it. But seeing how it may
have happened with a lead-up (in a dramatization, perhaps) could
have helped.

I remember getting behind the wheel for the first time and NOT
ever thinking of those old films. But years later when movies
depicted certain scenarios, *then* those scenes played back in my
mind.

A friend of mine had the ringtone "I'm about to whoop somebody's @$$"
when his boss called. Another friend had "Ding!! Dong!! The Witch Is Dead!!" (from The Wizard Of Oz) when his wife called. <G>

The drawback is that they go off when the other party is in the vicinity. :P

I saw some that included dramatizations. They also made fun of one that included dramatizations on Beavis and Butthead. :)

I rarely watch that. I saw one episode where Sheldon said that nothing
could persuade him to change his mind on a certain thing...until this guy pulled out these 2 huge sparkling green round objects, and Sheldon's eyes
got as big as dollars.

There are some clips on Youtube of Big Bang Theory with the laugh track removed. It's very awkward, all the pausing after lame jokes. It's not nearly as good without the cues reminding you whats funny.

If you want to see Kaley Cuoco (Penny) actually act, check out "The Flight Attendant" on HBO Max. It's quite refreshing, and I hope she gets other opportunities.
