I was able to sit down last night and watch Coyote Vs. ACME.

For me, this film was much anticipated. From the behind the scenes studio drama to looking forward to the personal nostolgia of remembering seeing Who Framed Roger Rabbit in my early teens.

How did it live up to my expectations? It really didn't, wich is not to say it was a bad film. It wasn't. The humour landed, it definately captured the spirit of the WarnerBrothers Saturday morning cartoons, but I think it suffered from being in the shadow of the afformentioned Who Framed Rodger Rabbit. It had to potential to be at least as good! The story had potential, the acticing was there. It just couldn't deliver in the end.

What am I aactually comparing? If memory serves me correctly (and I may need to rewatch Roger Rabbit.), the film could have stood on it's own as either a full live action hard boiled detectice noir piece or as a Disney animated feature, so both adults and children got something out of it.

While Coyote Vs. ACME could have stood as a fully featured Looney Tunes feature film, its live action piece suffered, in the parts that it could have developed drama on the live action side with a little efford, it moved straight into an animated gag, both in and out of the courtroom scenes.

Does this make it a do not watch? I don't think so, it was entertaining. It certainly was better than a lot of films coming out of Hollywood these days, just don't sit down expecting anything groundbreaking like Who Framed Rodger Rabbit.

I read that the film was rescued by Ketchup Entertainment after the head honcho at WB was prepared to shelve the entire project as a loss and benefit from the tax savings instead.

I suppose a theatre screen experience is still worthy of the cost to see it in a sticky-floor pop-corn smelling, and candy wrapper-noise environment?

With today's large screen TVs readily available for homes, I would think that it would be more comfortable "night-out" at home.

If you have streaming it might likely be nicer. I don't so, if there was something I really, really wanted to see I would need somewhere to see it. Other I would need to wait for a physical media, (non-premium) television, or free youtube release to see it.

That said, IIRC, the last time I was in a hurry to see a movie was "Walk the Line" which I now realize must have been at least 12+ years ago. :O :D I think the last movie I saw in a theatre was "Wonder Woman" with a friend that wanted to go to the movies. It was in one of those theatres that also serves lunch/dinner, which was handy since it was lunchtime. I have not been to a theatre since before COVID.

Apparently, some people do like to go out for an evening and include movie theatres as part of their outings.

A couple of them sounded a little familiar, but I am not sure if that was only because I recognized the actor or character that was pictured. I have not seen any of them. I had actually never heard of Ketchup Entertainment until I read your reply. :D

I'm propped up in bed, or it can be a favourite chair, and the phone is propped up near eye-level beside me, or nearly directly in front. I am not holding the phone at all.

My TV is not a smart TV. I never used the smart features on the old one, and it isn't spying on me. ;)

My TV doesn't have the smarts either. But an Android TV box connected to it brings home wi-fi access to it, and therefore.. a phone can cast to the Android TV box if the "receiver" app is installed on the Android TV box.

Most of the time I access my phone's DATA services via enabling hotspot mode, let the Android TV box to use the signal, and simply browse and stream videos directly from the Android TV box browser.

But lately, I really like the simplicity of just having the phone propped up next to me as previously described.

I measured the propped up distance properly just now. It's actually 22in. That's very comfortable to watch.
