This may be why the Chef is unconsolable when it comes to
America and President Trump.

I get that from him. His country was ruined, he's adapted to it, and
now he wants everyone else to experience what he experienced. It's a
form of jealousy.
form of jealousy.
I don't think so. I believe it's a form of narcissmism. Here me out.
I've encountered many people over my years that made mistakes in their lives. But rather than admit that they made a mistake and atone for it, they want YOU to make the same mistakes that they did.
I wondered for a long time as to "why?" Normal people would warn
others. "Don't do that. I did that and regretted it." But these types of people actively want others to make the same mistakes that they did.
I finally realized that it's a form of narcissism. These people can't admit that they made a mistake. Then if they get you to make the same mistake their decision is validated as "the right thing" because "that happens to everyone."

You explained it perfectly. They don't want to see other people
overcome the obstacle; they'd rather see people fall into the same hole that they fell into because it makes them feel better about themselves.
