USDA Secretary Brooke Rollins said on X that "we're getting closer to closing a loophole that qualifies people for SNAP benefits who drive luxury vehicles like Bentlys, Lamborghinis, and Ferraris."
I'm MAGA and everything, but this sounds wrong.
Someone could have a
lot of money one day, and be broke the next. It's common. And where
does she come up with those brand names? A Jeep Grand Cherokee is a
very luxurious and expensive vehicle. Why isn't it on the list also?
I don't blame people who receive food stamps for anything, and I don't judge them either. I was briefly on food stamps back around 2001 and I thought it was great, but was making $6.25 per hour working part time. Nobody said "You have Nike sneakers and a Roche Bobois sofa, so you
can't be hungry."
She should focus on fraud and lose the jealousy over people who own
fancy things.
If someone has money, but spends it unwisely, that's not society's problem. Let them sell their nice car and fur coat first. Then they
can qualify for SNAP.

Then he should sell one of his cars to eat... It is an asset... So if someone is worth 300 million in cars and what not should get welfare??
He needs to Strip and do unmentionable things like the rest of the world.
Suppose a lady marries a guy who gives her a $100,000 wedding ring. Then he loses his job, and they apply for food stamps. Should the social
worker notice that she's wearing a huge diamond ring and say "Well maam, we're gonna have to get that ring appraised before we approve your food stamp application?"
They had what I thought would be 100s of thousands of dollars in antiques... Sometimes you had to turn sideways and suck in your stomach
to walk in a room Antiques.
The Social Worker said they didn't qualify and that they should consider selling some of their hoard.
Money = asset, Car = asset, bling = asset, house = asset.
If you own a $400,000 you don't need welfare.
If you needed it I say apply... If things are normal so be it... No million dollar home or 1/2 million dollar car. Just normal stuff the government should have your back.
That's weird that the social worker went to their house. I have Medicaid for prescription coverage and I have to re-apply for it on a yearly
basis. They never call me or have me come in, I just send them my income documents and they base my eligibility on those.
To me it seems hard to calculate how much the assets are worth,
especially the cars, and especially for a social worker to figure out.
I get it, but any car is worth more than enough money to buy food. If Secretary Rollins wants to get tough, they should get tougher than this and really rip people off the nipple.
She ^^^--- That lady needed 20 bucks for something. She went into
Walmart and bought a sh!t load of soda and went out side and started pouring out the soda to get the 10 cent return on the bottle so that she could get the 20 bucks. She was filmed doing it... and that was posted and it went viral.

I don't think you need to... If you are living in a "Normal" house with your family, Ur good to go. If you live large like Barry and Mike...
You know "normal"
Social workers can probably find out if a person lives in a luxury home
by requesting their property tax receipts, or if they have a luxury car
by looking at their vehicle registrations.
I live on a street with 99% extremely poor people (run down houses, plywood windows, condemned meth labs, crack houses, kids with no shoes ripping down street signs, people scavenging through the trash, etc.)
But there's a person who lives a few houses down who has a Tesla (no garage though.)

Only in America can you go from humble places to being rich... Keep the faith.
Maybe the guy who owns the Tesla has a fans only page!!!
