• Clrghouz update...

From deon@21:2/116 to All on Wed Dec 13 10:57:08 2023
    Howdy,

I'm about to push an update to clrghouz (in about 30 mins) that will hopefully improve the automatic routing that I'm striving to achieve.

I'm hoping to get to a point where clrghouz will automatically know to route mail to downstream nodes (nodes and points) for RC's, NC's, Hub's - and in the case of fidonet which is multi-zoned to the ZC, when those systems are defined on clrghouz. Additionally, if downsteam nodes of a RC set themselves up directly on clrghouz (I have some of those as well), clrghouz will know to send the mail directly (and any of their downstream nodes if applicable), instead of via the normal routing (ZC->RC->NC->Hub->Node->point and in reverse).

To date, the routing routine that I've been using has been sub optimal (from a query performance point of view) - and problematic generally. It also didnt allow for routing of mail destined to points. (Thanks Jay for reminding me that I needed to do this.)

So for the last couple of days, I've been improving that, as well as writing CI testing to hopefully cover all the scenarios that were causing problems. (Found a few faupas along the way...)

So if you see any mail come in that isnt destined for you, please let me know (you shouldnt) - as well as if you see anything unusual.

Since this update, no mail from micronet or tqwnet has made it through to my system.

Micronet - postie is rejecting them saying they're from an unknown link - possibly because my system is set up to receive mail from 618:510/1 and they appear to be coming from 618:510/0

Not sure about tqwnet - i may not have received any mail for that net yet, IDK

Argh. I actually wondered about this after I pushed out the update. There might be some fsxnet systems that might be affected by stuff coming from 3/0.

So I've just done some ammendments to my routing logic to pick the lower of the two addresses that clrghouz has (3/0 = NC, and 3/100 = Hub) for downstream nodes (with the respective changes for the other nets). Hopefully that restores things back.

    Oops, sorry folks.

    Hopefully I've fixed this.

I can manually do a rescan for the last 24 hrs if this last update affected anybody...

Alternatively, the mail might still be in your inbound as bad packets. You can temporarily change the hub address to 21:3/0 to import the messages, and then change it back to 21:3/100. Everything should come in from the hub's original address including this message...

Can confirm I'm getting micronet packets again :) Thankyou
