    Hello Sysops!
    Hope everything's going well on your end. I wanted to share my recent exploration of Retroshare, a software that, though its non-sexy interface but quite different from the good old BBS days, brings something intriguing and innovative to the table.

    Certainly, Retroshare will never replace the iconic ANSI Art aspect of BBS. However, where it comes close is in the essence of decentralized communication, with its Areas, netmails, and fileareas. It's like taking the friendliness of BBS and modernizing it to meet today's requirements for security and anonymity, thanks to GPG encryption and the use of Tor.
    While the absence of ANSI Art may feel a bit melancholic for the nostalgics, communication-wise, Retroshare offers something genuinely interesting.

    Interesting; a few of us still run KDX servers... retroshare, without having installed or used it, looks like a Windows 7-era version of KDX.

    We were always looking for the next way to create community, weren't we? Heck; we still are!

    I might give an install - do you have any retroshare servers to connect to, or does it not work that way?

    1) Browse to this URL :https://retroshare.ch/invite

    2) Connect to a friend server over tor. I did not find any server, so I spent some time creating a docker image and I'm now running a hidden service at this onion address : st5aftoje62sosmnj5yaxfetagiyngjonmi6vdmjtyhatgxniwjmixyd.onion port 9878.

    First time you launch Retroshare-gui, don't forget to click on "New Profile/Node" then chose "Hidden Node (over Tor)".
    When you got the main window, click on Network Icon, then Friend Server tab then add the onion address I pasted above, then type your password (the one you just created), then click on "ON/OFF" and set friends to request to 1 (otherwise you'll have to wait while my hidden friend server reaches 10 peers so it could take a while as my hidden server is currently unknown and hidden) :D
