Bad timing for this with the spam bots.. lol :)

Anyway, I develop apps for Android and the web, including social networks. I took one of my old Fediverse projects and am converting it to connect with FTN networks.

So here it is.. in alpha https://social.fidonet.network

It's written in PHP, is setup as a point node off a Mystic BBS, and interfaces with the message base files and fidogate software.

It's currently sandboxed (messages don't get out) because Mystic is being a pain again and won't create outbound packets :(. Logs are no help either.

Anyway, check it out, it's pretty basic, and I don't have a real name for it yet. Oh, and any idea why mutil creates a .flo file but nothing else in my outbound dir? That's literally all that's keeping it sandboxed at this point.

... No honey, I can't eat with the family. My computer gets lonely!

    help either.

I spun up a new vps and installed Mystic from scratch. I still can't get mutil to export packets. It exports the .flo, but not the *.we? or .th? to go along with it.

I suppose I'll have to run this from my own servers... :(

You think the VPS is causing the issue, and running it from your own
    servers will fix it?

Yes exactly. It runs everywhere but a specific set of DO vps
servers. It does work on a lower tier vps, which is a little
strange. Of course it works on my servers which is where I do my
dev, and run the main hub.

I do on a vps because I don't do dev work in them.

One reason this can happen is because of missing archivers like zip and unzip.

I don't know if that is what is happening in this situation but have a look and make sure you have zip and unzip or any other archivers installed in the environment where mutil is sending out mail.

Check for missing archivers, as per the previous thread. :)

Ahhhh, good. That makes sense as the mail packets are often compressed/zipped.

By the way, I left the formatting of your reply intact, above. It's a
jumbled up mess, quite frankly. I suspect that is because you're using
some kind of Android newsreader/NNTP client to post with. Not sure how
much you care about that, but it makes it VERY difficult to read your
posts, and many/most people will just skip on by such a mess...

You have to install Linux Zip/Unzip. Read the wiki. It really pretty much gets you going. mystic is fairly simple with echomail.

check they are being created, and you have zip setup, you might be trying to point to compressed files never created..

I just registered and it looks really neat, well done!

Have a look at WebJAM which looks to be similar:

    https://gitlab.ambhost.net/stimpy/website_jamreader/

I had that running awhile ago, but it wasn't mobile friendly which was my
    main goal.
