pizza sounds good. We had pizza the other day, my mum came up for a week
to visit and meet reuben, was a bit of a whirlwind visit, she bought us
    pizza one night.

I think i've probably mentioned my favourite pizza from La Taste, an
italian takeaway place here in town, so much better than dominos, but I
    don't mind dominos either.

How big is/was your gold fish pond, and what did you do with the gold
fish? or is fish and chips another night ;P

Yum.. yes this was Pizza Hut value range (I'm not a big spender) and one of those 3 for $20 deals. We ended up with several of our kids visiting so got 6 pizzas and most of it is now gone :(

    What toppings Andrew?

How big is/was your gold fish pond, and what did you do with the gold fish? or is fish and chips another night ;P

Hahah.. we'll it's about 3 meters by 1.5 - 2 meters wide, it's one of those kidney shaped ones. Came with the house when we bought it. Concrete lined with stone edging.

Fish, what fish :) Yeah once upon a time there were about 5-6 in the pond but over time neighbourhood cats slowly picked them off and there seemed to be a problem in the water and a few of the fish got sick and died.

Sorry this is not a happy ending story (sadly)... well it might have been for the cats :)

So the pond had a leak. It's been leaking for a while now but we're starting on trying to get the thing water proofed again. We (naively) had tried a pond liner but there's an overflow pipe in the pond and to accommodate that had (this is dumb I know) cut the liner to accommodate the pipe. That was a #fail

The plan now is to use some pool paint to try and seal up the cracks. We don't know where in the pond the hole(s) are but can see water in certain areas on the lawn.

This won't be a quick fix. I have yet to save up the $$ to get the expensive paint. So that's the next step but at least the thing is empty now.

So yeah, beer and a pizza and some BBSing, nice way to end the weekend.

Hope you guys are going well and getting into some routines now aka more sleep :)

thats a pretty good deal. i do like pizza hut :)

    What toppings Andrew?

well, the la taste pizza i go for "the lot" with anchovies. pizza hut /
dominos i usually lean towards the meat lovers style.

    how about you?

ah yeah bad luck. i think when people put the mesh over them to keep them
safe from the cats it tends to spoil the look a bit. my uncle used to
have half a rainwater tank that had goldfish, it was quiet deep and full
of lily pads, but then i dont think they ever had cats (and this was on a
    farm so no neighbourhood cats)

yeah were ok. not really getting the best sleep though. wife is having a
nap this afternoon and son is sleeping on my lap.

I'd been mostly getting Dominoes until recently but then they upped their prices and lowered the range of budget pizzas and that led me back to Pizza Hut :)

well, the la taste pizza i go for "the lot" with anchovies. pizza hut / dominos i usually lean towards the meat lovers style.

    how about you?

I like meat lovers also, not such a fan of the anchovies but do like pizzas with salami, pesto, lots of cheese, ham, tomatoes, some camembert cheese, red onion, herbs etc. on them...

Also like that one called Martguerita, has basil and pesto and MMM... hey now I am getting hungry again (and don't say 'Hi Hungry' :)

ah yeah bad luck. i think when people put the mesh over them to keep them safe from the cats it tends to spoil the look a bit. my uncle used to

Once we get it fixed up the plan is to get 5-6 goldfish in it again, I don't know if the mesh will work but the first thing is a pond that stays at the right level. Once is drops the fish are easy prey so a full pond I think will do wonders.

Picking you guys didn't drink the rainwater from that tank right?

yeah were ok. not really getting the best sleep though. wife is having a nap this afternoon and son is sleeping on my lap.

Joys of parenting, hopefully your son will develop more routines over time. I recall with feeding (we did bottle feeding) I was always better at the 5am-7am feed times and my wife was better at the 1am-3am times... so we worked things that way.

Hope you guys have a nice evening. Nice chatting.

    Sounds like a good day.
No fishes left in the pond? Or what did you do with them if there was any? What's your favourite pizza (name and/or toppings)?

One of my favorites is Soupy and Banana Peppers, Only place I know that makes it of course is in Mystic CT, where a large goes for about 30 bucks. But its really good. I think Dominoes does a really good job these days and the price is very cheap.

Your in Florida? Hope you doing okay down there. I really feel for you guys, seems you have to deal with these hurricanes a few times a year.. I guess thats why any place has its PROS and CONS. Im stuck up in Connecticut, have to deal with the winters, but my Family is here, always thought I would leave but its not easy to leave family behind.

yea we're good here, the people down south are the ones that REALLY need help. we had power all the way through (minus a few "flicks") till about 11am then we got it back 330am the next day.

we have been really lucky up to this point, nothing all year so far then this.. probably not much else now, but i'm not going to open my mouth lol

to be honest, i'd rather the 100 degree heat than the winters from the uk we had or what you get up north... I LOVE the snow
but i hate the cold that goes with it :D

exercise is a killer.... you never hear about anyone getting killed by sitting on the couch :D

I once had a kiddie swimming pool (or something like it), and put feeder fish in it (I don't entirely remember the logic; I think I may have just wound up with _way_ more feeder fish than needed for my Oscar, and keeping them in my other tank was _way_ too much for that tank.).

I came back to it a couple hours later, and saw geese (or maybe ducks...) exiting the pool, and no feeder fish in the pool any more.

So, yeah, an outdoor pool of a certain type just seems like an invitation for the local creatures to have a snack.
