  • First Snow in Upstate NY

    Good Morning! 8:30am here in the Albany, NY area and we just shoveled out from about 7" of snow here. The first major snow of the year.

    I'm all for this because Christmas is right around the corner. But make no mistake, when January 2nd hits... I expwect all the snow that has fallen to PROMPTLY melt and go away till next year.

    But I do like the first snow fall of the year in general, but it wears out it welcome very quickly. :P

    Afternoon here and 'summer' is technically here in New Zealand but as yet it's still to properly appear. I'm hanging out for some BBQs at home... but prepping for winter as we've just installed a new wood burner at our place... so keeping both bases covered.

    Afternoon here and 'summer' is technically here in New Zealand but as yet it's still to properly appear. I'm hanging out for some BBQs at home...

    Welcome to the South East summer of 2022/3. In Melbourne, and Victoria its much the same, we've got a lot o' rain, and "resort" areas have continued to receive some snow. Last week we had Friday and Saturday hot, ~27c sunny, followed by wild dropoff back to cold and rain, with 16c or so.

    The rest of Australia has been flipping between rain and flooding and the odd heatwave pushing temps as far as 45c.

    I completely agree. Love the snow on the holidays but after that it can go. I'm in MN so its highly unlikely that will happen for us. Happy Holidays!

    That was the western part of the state out by Buffalo.

    Crazy! 30 dead from the storm. :(
    22 inches of snow! Next biggest snow fall was NYC in 2016 with 27!
    Then 26 inches in 1947 in NYC. Yikes!

    called our local snow removal people to make sure the driveway was clear

    She said we were good to go and that they accidentally shoveled our
    stairway clear instead of my neighbor's this week. :)
