Wow. Couple of Cali residents complaining about the weather.

    Weather acclimatization. It's a real thing, I swear! :-)

Yeah, me too. I lived in Orange Country for 25 years, now 15 years in Riverside County. I travel to the bay area *many* times a year (in Berkeley as I type this) and damn, it's too cold! :-)

Well, small world. I grew up in Riverside and now live in Berkeley!

Had to scrape ice off my windshield this AM, been a while since it was
that cold here. And I realize there are people REALLY freezing right now,
so I'll count myself lucky :)

Are in the Berkeley for biz?

Yeah, my office is in Foster City (there a couple of days a week, most weeks), so I stay at my daughter's apartment in Berkeley while up there. Flying up again in a few hours. It's a sunny 65F day outside here in Riverside County at the moment while it's 56F and raining in Berkeley. :-)

I've mostly visited Riverside (for work, as there's a warehouse there where we have an install) in the summer, and... would not recommend.

It's a dry heat, generally, but the only reason it's fairly pleasant when it's 110F outside is because one is outside of air conditioning for about ten minutes a day, generally.

But Bay Area weather is generally nice. I love a day with a layer of fog above, as it's just so consistent, and I'm not worrying about a migraine due to sunlight.

Though it _does_ get sunny the further away you get from the ocean.

Which is what's generally nice about Germany. Sun rarely comes out, and still rarely snows. Well, at least in the parts nearish to the Netherlands. I imagine the Alps might be a bit different.
