• Talisman v0.4

From apam@21:1/126 to All on Fri Nov 13 21:31:40 2020
Hehe you thought I was going to say it's out didn't you??

Nah, I'm going to aim to have v0.4 be the first public release anyone can download.

I decided on GNU GPLv3 for a license.

I'm not going to make my git repo public though, just release tarballs.
The reasoning is, I tend to make a lot of commits while testing, and it's broken often. I may change my mind on this in the future.

Some new things already in 0.4

    You can delete emails,
Emails included in QWK packets (conference 0)
You can now choose not to read new messages if the sysop has MSGREADNEW
    instead of MAILSCAN at login.

Well that's all for now. I'm going to have a beer now.

For an alpha release, and as a tester on Linux, this thing is amazingly functional and has all the base features I'd need from a modern BBS system. Easy to compile and configure with toml files.

It's almost like you have made BBS software before :)

Today, I'm embarking on the FTN setup with Talisman. I've never used Husky before, so I'm sure it will be a learning experience...

    Happy Friday!

Hehe, I have cheated a bit, although I've not used any code from Magicka
(it was C) I have use a bit from my other projects Ghost and Titan (both
    C++).

Have fun :) Husky is quiet good once you get it set up, and works well
    with Squish.

Sounds like you need one! I hope your finding time to sleep, eat, etc as well as programming. ;)

I really can't say too much, as I've had a bunch of projects released recently...

I'll have to grab a copy and take a look at your work.
