• Menu ANSI's

    From paulie420@21:2/150 to All on Tue Nov 24 10:31:58 2020
    So, I had made a main menu and the AT-Codes weren't displaying correctly. I knew why right away, my menu has ANSI *after* the AT-Codes, and I noticed apam's stock ones didn't... OK.

    Solution, I fired up TheDRAW and stripped the two AT-Codes from the menu. Turned on ANSI animation and then 'drew in' the AT-Codes, saved. So the menu is drawn, and then the AT-Codes are drawn over top that. It worked... however;

    On the very last line, there is a straggler 'm' character. ?!? What the heck is that and why? I thought maybe I inserted it, but can't see anything that should cause it in my ANSI. For more info, it happens after the AT-Code for running the rumors display script.

    Any ideas? I wanted to install system-wide menus today and wonder if this is gonna slow me down. I'm gonna do one more, to see if IT displays correctly, or if theres any extra characters there too.

    Not sure what's going on there. Can you send me a copy of your ansi? It
    sounds like a colour change got interrupted (colour changes use ESC[XXm
    where XX is a colour code.

    My email is either apam at talismanbbs.com or apamment at yandex.com.

    Ok, it's a bug in talisman, and will be fixed for v0.6. I never tested
    ansis without SAUCE which is why I never caught it.

    dude - NO stress, at all... thats what all this stuff is for, right? I *always* delete my sauce stuff, and I'd assume some/many other sysOps do too... so together, I'm sure we'll hit tons of these things. They say that, right - a developer's nightmare is all the different types of systems/variables that they DON'T have in front of them. I'm happy to be helping with your project; in the ways that I can.. by breaking sh*t. :P

    Oh ya, in general some old DOS text files has crap in it afte a ^Z character, so you should stop at that char in all cases. (not just for sauce, but in general for an files that are "TEXT" mode)
