  • Real name or alias

    Hello All,

    I have been setting up message areas here. I have fsxnet setup to use the
    users handle/alias becuse that is what we use here in fsxnet. I have fido
    setup to use the users real name because that's what it used there,
    mostly.

    There are a few areas where alias are allowed like the mystic and sbbs
    areas. In a case like that how to I set those areas to use the alias
    instead of real name?

    At present it's all or nothing for message conferences.

    I will look at adding an override after I finish message linking.

    Maybe this is not an option, but you could try having two message groups
    for fido... one where all the echos are real names (and the ini file is set
    for real names true) and one where they all allow aliases (and the ini file
    for it is set for real names false)?

    Yeah, that is an option I never thought of.

    I'm not going to worry any about it.. just leave things real name for now
    and work out a solution if one is ever needed.
