  • QWK message pointer issue

    Hey, all -

    I call a couple of Mystic BBSes to download/upload QWK packets. On a
    couple of boards, I've noticed either:

    1. new messages show in the message scan, but no QWK packets made

    2. QWK downloads work fine for a couple of days, then on the next day
    all messages are flagged as new and bundled. The next day, all is normal
    with just new messages downloaded.

    Are these common problems? Is there a fix/workaround I could suggest?

    this is why i run an old version.. pretty sure the newscan thing is borked. doesn't happen for this version. i think the daily maintenance to pack the message bases messes up the new message index thing.

    qwk scan and new message scan have different scan lists. make sure your qwk packets are configured to download the same ones you newscan :)

    another qwerk that might show up depending on how the login sequence goes.. if the bbs does a "your message scan" and you read any of those messages, they become the 'last read' message, skipping everything before them. i've thought about removing the "do you want to read them?" prompt but it's kind of convenient to jump right to messages 'to you' at login.. :/
