• Will there be a new Mystic Version

From Beery@21:4/109 to All on Mon Dec 16 10:48:13 2019
Just asking, as the last two years about this time, we were hearing and
seeing new versions of Mystic being released.

Is the developer doing any further development?

    Just curious.

We haven't heard much from g00r00 the past 9(?) or so months, so doubtful
    until he resurges.

He takes breaks like this. It's his normal cycle.

    He will be back soon.

I believe so yes. g00r00 was just about here and we gave him feedback on
    a couple issues.

I think Mystic is a labour of love rather a $$$ maker so he has to take
care of real life issues before Mystic but it is something has worked on
for a long time to bring it to where it is and I doubt he is finished
    working on it.

That's the million dollar question. We last saw a release around March when 1.12 A43 came out. Since then g00r00 has been inactive except for a brief
burst of activity in October in echomail. I am not sure when we will see another update but I remain hopeful it will be sooner than later.

I love updates to the software I run, but for me at least Mystic runs solid!
I very rarely have to reboot it due to crashes, other then a locked ghost
node, or Winbloze resetting by itself because of updates (Even though they
are off) or power outage it runs and runs.. In my opinion it is so versatile that you can pretty much do anything with it. g00r00 comes and goes, I'm ok with that. Although I would love to see a quick update this January to change the copyright message to 2020 LOL

This is the reason I support g00r00's efforts with Mystic. It is really a
very robust and feature laden software.

Bugs have a way of showing up but once reported can be solved and g00r00
has worked hard both getting Mystic where is is and also working bugs
    out.

The only reliable method I know of to thwart the *mandatory, forced* reboots
to update Windows is to set your Internet connection to a "metered network connection".

You can do this for any interface, including WiFi, Wired, etc.

Works like a champ, although you'll be constantly nagged about needing to reboot and download/install those updates.

I'll try that.. I am most likely going to be moving off of Virtual Box soon
and moving on to HyperV or VMWare in the coming months because this Virtual
Box has some errors to it right now.. It's either fix the errors or just
create a new Virtual machine.. I am leaning towards a new machine..

Yes that's not a bad way to go (VMWare, not HyperV though). If you can run
ESXi on a host that you dedicate as a hypervisor that would really rock for you.

Or, KVM with Proxmox is pretty awesome too, and you're not limited to
licensing issues that you would have with VMWare. They really restrict what
you can utilize in a machine like, how many cores, etc., using the free license, and I'm just not a fan of anything Microsoft (HyperV), but those are personal prefs and I know a lot of folks incorporate "The Darkside" in their infrastructure lol.

I think, if you're going to migrate, rather than deploy a fresh VM, you want
to move it as a VMDK instead of what VirtualBox uses as native disk format.

Wow, this is an old post, I migrated to KVM on a Linux based machine.
Migration went well, everything runs as expected. Looking at Proxmoxx for my other VM's...

OK, it's an old post as Bucko says, but from what I've seen A47 is getting close to release. It has new features like the marquee and fully working
mis poll and Event system. My system is running fine with no help from cron
now using only Mystic A47 (version below in tagline). So the prediction
is A47 will be soon released ;)
